Congratulations to 2022 Grant Recipients

At our June 5, 2022 board meeting, we announced our first annual BCH Kansas grants since the inception of the program this year. Pattie Stalder of the Tuttle Creek Chapter received a grant for $348 to purchase trail guides and brochures for the trails at Randolph State Park. Diana Skinner of the Sunflower Chapter was awarded $133 to help cover the cost of new tires for her ATV used for trail maintenance at numerous trails in eastern Kansas and for search and rescue at South Shore Trails at Clinton Lake.

Grant applications are accepted May 1 - 31 each year. Visit Grants for more information.

BCHKS Grants

The Back Country Horsemen Kansas Grant will be awarded in amounts from $100 to $500 in order to fund as many projects as possible. Should you have any questions, please contact Diana Skinner at dgskinner85@gmail.com and put GRANT QUESTION in the subject line.

Chapter Support Grants (BCHA)

Grant opportunity from BCHA for between $100 and $1,000 (maximum). Visit the BCHA website for more information. The grant application is January 1 - March 15 of each year.

Education Foundation Grants (BCHA)

The BCHA Education Foundation directors are pleased to announce the availability of three $1,000 grants and two $500 grants to BCH chapters for equipment, materials and supplies for trail or trailhead building, maintenance and/or repair. These grants are a result of a DEW Foundation donation. Projects are encouraged which involve partnerships with public land agencies and other trail or youth groups. The grant application should include the trail or trails and type of activity planned. Photos of the project before, during and after are required along with a news article suitable for publishing in the BCHA National Newsletter and for the DEW Foundation and other media outlets. The Ron Arrington memorial donation has funded two $ 500 grants for youth education projects. These projects could include 4-H, FFA, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts or other youth groups and be oriented to education about saddle and pack stock and the wise and sustaining use of our backcountry resource. We would ask that applications be submitted by May 15 in order that the grants can be awarded June 1. Visit the BCHA website for more information.
