Back Country Horsemen of Kansas (BCHKS) is part of a nation-wide organization that is committed to protecting the access of equestrians to public lands. We are devoted equestrians who love to ride and explore new trails. We assist with trail maintenance and improvement projects, keeping trails clear for all user groups. We welcome riders of all types, ages and interests!

Problems with Non-Equine Campers in Equestrian Campgrounds?
BCHA has developed a form for reporting incidents with non-equestrian campers in designated equestrian campgrounds. Be sure to share your concerns with the camp host, the public land manager, and BCHKS, so these concerns can be addressed at the local level. Horse Camp Incident Form

BCHKS Volunteer Hours Have Value
Kansas equestrians deserve a big pat on the back for another impressive year of volunteer work on public trails!! For 2024, we reported over 4,400 hours of volunteer work, which equates to a $357,000 in labor and supplies! We share this information with public land managers and other trail organizations, and they continue to be impressed by the dedication we equestrians have for taking care of trails we love to ride. Since BCHKS started keeping track of hours in 2014, we’ve reported 34,000 hours toward the maintenance and preservation of our public trails, with a value of over $2M! How would our trails look without these efforts?
